People come in many sizes and shape: tall and short, stocky or lanky, muscular or not. These differences are a unique part of being a human. For this reason, there's no such thing as a "perfect body," or an ideal body shape, weight, or size that everyone should strive for. Likewise, losing weight, or maintaining a target weight, is easier for someone than others-in spite of their commitment to healthful eating and physical activity. That too, is part of what makes each of us unique.

Regardless of your size and shape, you can choose a healthful lifestyle and so live a fuller, more productive life and reduce your risk for health problems. Assess your own health habits. Make choices for good health with your mind. Choose a healthy eating style, be physically active, and make your goal your healthy weight, not some unattainable goals.

REMEMBER: Fitness goes beyond maintaining the body weight that's healthy for you. It's a total package of your physical, mental, and social health. And that feels good!
