As I was running this morning I was thinking (yes I do that A LOT:)) about the next 3 months of training I will be doing. I will be running a lot of miles each week. I will be stretching a lot. I will be cross training a lot. I will need to make sure I get enough rest/sleep. And I will be eating a lot! Plus running (no pun intended) a few businesses, writing & the usual life stuff. All of these things combined can be a bit overwhelming. I get asked a lot how I balance everything I do. And here is my secret:) Prioritize. It may sound simple or complex, but after years of experience I have found that when I prioritize the things I have to do, the things I must do and the things I would like to, it makes getting everything done a little easier.
Here are some ways for you to start prioritizing things in your life.
#1) start with writing things down! Before you go to bed each night, write down everything you can think of on a piece of paper or your computer.
#2) balance! Easy to say, but oh so important to do. Don't spend hours answering emails! Don't spend all day on the computer! Incorporate balance by starting with small tasks & work towards the bigger things.
#3) make sure you get exercise in! I recommend first thing in the morning. This way you can spend the rest of the day feeling great! You will also will feel energized+empowered throughout the day.
